Collaborative Care
Dr. Rickenbacker considers her task as a physician to be part investigator, part trouble-shooter, and part educator.  She specializes in narrowing and prioritizing an exhaustive differential into the most relevant and pressing diagnoses. You can trust her psychiatric consultation to complete an excellent continuum of your quality care.  Know that her philosophy is to move a patient toward the minimum number and dosages of medication possible that will get his symptoms to remission.

Your patient may contact us directly to inquire about becoming a new patient.  If you or your staff submit a consult/referral by fax to 512-259-3576, PLEASE INCLUDE ONLY the patient's demographics and your specific questions or concerns.  DO NOT SEND MEDICAL RECORDS. We will then contact the patient to arrange for an appointment.  If your patient declines to schedule, we will make effort to inform your office.  In addition to consults for anxiety, bipolar, or treatment-resistent depression, Dr. Rickenbacker can also address specific issues of clinical concern including:

  • Post-partum depression
  • Somatization Disorder
  • Appropriateness of gastric bypass surgery/plastic surgery procedures
  • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, diagnosis and treatment
  • Domestic violence
  • Dual-diagnosis (substance abuse and mental illness)
  • Benzodiazepine/Opiate dependence and tapers
